Throughout the whole of the two year period of doing the IB, my school was providing tours around the Sixth Form for students who were looking to apply to the Sixth Form the following year, and of course, who else better to give a tour than an actual student? Whenever a prospective IB student came for a tour, I would guide them through the Sixth Form building and answer any questions which they had about the course, the subjects i was doing and the school. This was useful for CAS because
I had increased
my awareness of my own strengths and areas for growth in touring the people around the building. I had to work collaboratively with others in order to fulfil the visitors' questions like providing them with someone who did a subject that I do not do if they were interested in it. I also considered
the ethical implications of my actions as this could be the children's future school and had to answer the questions honestly so that they could make the right decision for their future. This helped me to become a thinker, a
communicator, principled, open-minded, caring, a risk-taker.
My aims were to give an appropriate tour of the building and answer any questions which the visitors had about the school and the IB.
This was a challenge for me because I had a lot of pressure to answer questions and make sure that the visitors understood me and had a good and honest impression of the school through my tour.
This was of SERVICE because I had to give tours of the whole school to the Visiting prospective students.
